Being Your Own Person

Most times you have to ignore what others say of you. You can listen to what they have to say, but you must always make your mind.

Depending on who you are, most your friends might be genuine. They are your friends because you are who you are and they are who they are. If this is the case, it is well and good. This, however does not make their advice foolproof. In their sincere wish to see you do well, they might be harming your progress in life.

Sometimes you have friends that are not sincere in their feelings towards you. They might be nice to you but they really don’t like seeing you doing whatever is that you are doing. You might be richer, more good looking, live in a house on top a hill and your model wife drives around in a Ferrari. You simply have more than them and this makes them feel second class. Quiet jealousy takes hold of their heart and they start to grow to hate while putting up a friendly persona upfront. These friends are what you refer as “ friends”. Nothing makes them happy than to see you fall. These “friends”, you must know who they are and be wary of their words.

And then they are people whom you met 5 minutes ago telling you their life story and giving advice on how to run yours.

It is good to learn from others. You can listen. But you must decide your own course to take. It is your life.
